I am also a beginner that doesn't have a lot of money to spend for reloading equipment right now.
So, I took the plunge and put in an order for a Rossi Matched Pair in .22LR and .45Colt/.410. The barrels are interchangeable with the .22LR barrel bored offset so that the centerfire hammer now becomes a rimfire hammer. The intent is to shoot Field Pistol or Small Bore using the .22LR and iron sights, while using the .45Colt and a scope for Big Bore Half Sized (once in a while, not every meet due to ammo costs). By using the .22LR, I can effectively run 4 classes (NO WAY! can I shoot 5th scale yet) FPIS/FPAS SBIS/SBAS and also the option of choosing either freestyle or standing.
I already picked up a scope mount.
For now, since all in, I have a brand new gun, with 2 chamberings, and a Brick of Winchester ammo for under $300, this will be a good way to get practice in while building my budget up. I do have my eye out for some reloading equipment with the intent of reloading .45Colt while deciding what chamber I want to grow into. Doesn't mean I will stop looking for a TC frame.
Tired of the .22LR conversion on my semi-auto

Now if the Creeping Crud will leave me alone long enough to make the Meets in March both in Tucson and Phoenix.
