Eye health, got rid of floaters

Post by 260 Striker »

Don't know if I posted this info before and too lazy to look at all the older topics. Don't know how many shooters have floaters in their eyes that seem to bug you just when you are sighting your gun at a target. I had them years ago and started taking Ocuvite (Bausch & Lomb brand name) or the Wally World Equate brand of multi vitamins with Lutein. The AMA did an aging study years ago for retinal degeneration and found luteins (whatever they are) slowed macular degeneration and in some individuals actually improved their conditions. My optometrist recommended it years ago and I have been taking it ever since. I was plagued with floaters that really bugged me when shooting and I no longer have that problem. I figured vitamins are good for you anyway so what harm could it do to try them out. Don't expect instant changes but gradually you will see some improvement. Just an FYI for everyone.

I'm with you Lynn.

It was shocking what happened to my eyesight between 1991 and 2014.

I order eye vitamins from amazon that also include Billberry, this summer is definitely better vision wise.

Lynn, I've have the same experience as you. I was plagued with floaters and a reduced ability to focus (now 65 years old). I've taken a similar ocular supplement for the last few years and the improvement was substantial. I have also found that, at least for me, that if I limit carbohydrates on match day my vision is much better......and I am not diabetic. But high protein-low carb helps my vision.

this falls perfectly with an article I am writing right now!

Lutein is great for removing the floaters. now if I could just remember to take my pills it might help me 8-|
