Rim thickness

The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

Has as much impact as how you hold your tongue during the shot ;)

Maybe it is just a finer shade of gray, but wouldn't a variation in rim thickness be the same as a variation in head space?

I've read where some folks think head space is very important, but I have no first hand knowledge. I recently bought the tools to check it in my Contender, but haven't gotten into the project yet.

That is true, changes in rim thickness equal variations in headspace and changes in ignition. In cheap U.S. made ammo, it can make a difference sorting by rim thickness. Use Eley ammo and don't worry about it...their cases are all made on the same Tenex machines and they don't vary.

When I sort 711b I can shot it in 1/5 scale otherwise it produces too many flyers. No need to sort Wolf or better match ammo in my TC or Charger. Steel isn’t like bench rest, in steel all you need is Minute-of-Turkey accuracy.
