30 Jirsa
Re: 30 Jirsa
If I remember correctly, it is based on the .223 case and is similar to the TCU series of cartridges. I remember reading an article many years ago detailing the building of a XP-100 based unlimited gun using this cartridge and the builders name was Terry Jursa. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. It is Terry Lee Jirsa in Colorado.
I'm going to try to find out if he's still around.

Re: 30 Jirsa
I did a Google search on his name. His brother Doug died March 26, 2011. Doug's obituary stated that his brother Terry L. Jirsa survived him and lives in Durango, CO. That should give you enough information to find him.

Re: 30 Jirsa
I realize this is a verry old post but...
I have an XP100 in 30 Jirsa (aka 30SIL) built by Terry Jirsa himself (ca 1985). He built it as a switch barrel, at my reequest, chambered in both 30SIL and 222. Best IHMSA round I ever shot was 40+3.
Since this was a wildcat, Terry recommended new .222 brass for consistency rather than recycled .223 brass.
BTW, Terry is alive and well in sw Colorado.
