1st. Match with cast

Post by ole95 »

Shot my 1st match using cast bullets Sat.
Using them for both production and unlimited
Both being totally new set ups to me
Production
10" 300 blackout contender
Just so happens BB production has always been
My worst gun I shoot whats funny I think SB
Production is my best
Anyway my score just a little below avg. for me
But had nothing to do with the cast bullets but i really
Think down the road this gun will work
Unlimited
14" 300 whisper contender
My score was right up there with my jacket
Bullet scores taking down 9 rams which is the
Most I have ever taken down with any gun in BB
So i figure the cast bullets are doing their job
I shot a total 5 guns Sat. 4 of which i had never
Shot in a match the 5th one match last year
Lets just say i was a happy camper all day
And pleased with the cast bullets

Shot my very first 40 with cast bullets, a Production MOA in 7BR. Shot at Logan Handgun Association. I'll always remember that day!

Welcome to the dark side Richard. Shooting with cast is easy. Doing it well..........not so much. It is a labor of love. My new Unlimited cast bullet gun is just about ready for a match. Early testing shows it has the potential to be as good or nearly as good as my UAS gun.

I know one good match does not mean the road will not have bumps ahead. But anytime your 1st. impression /experience is a positive one it's easier to build on.
And most people probably would not have been overly happy with my results but when your just a Average shooter it doesn't take much to make you happy :))
And yes I guess I could not shot 5 guns and just shoot one gun all the time and maybe get that 40 but to me it's a lot more fun doing it my way
Besides if you shoot a few 40's and then don't someone on this site will call you a "has been" =)) =))
my biggest problem now is I'm back at work so I don't have the time to cast all I would like to shoot :-?
