On behalf of John Tingue of Pueblo Valley Arms of Oregon:
John has purchased the manufacturing rights to the MOA Maximum specialty handgun from MOA Corporation of Sundance, Wyoming. John has acquired with the purchase machinery (Haas CNC Mill and other machinery and tooling) that Rich Mertz had currently used in the manufacture of the Maximum.
Rich Mertz has been actively involved in the transition of manufacturing, which will now be located in Fields, Oregon. Mr. Mertz has agreed to remain involved in the production of the pistol for approx. the next 12 months, and will continue to barrel and chamber each gun.
John in a telephone conversation, emphasizes that for the next year or so, he wants to concentrate on maintaining the quality and accuracy standards that MOA has been known for. John and Rich will initially concentrate on completing existing customer orders. As he acquires more precision equipment, John will increase his capacity for precision production, and he anticipates the introduction of new products in the future.
John Tingue has an extensive history in machining, and has held a Class 7 FFL for numerous years. You can contact him at:

Re: M.O.A. under new leadership
I wonder if Rich kept the switch barrel XP called Brutus. He used it to test some loads that he then used in his MOAs. He showed me some tests that he ran to see what his guns could take and I wouldn't have the nerve to try some of the things he did. His guns are tough. Hope this gives Rich some time to relax and enjoy life now. Good luck to the new owner.
