Pop Ups, just me or have we been hacked?????
For several days now I have been encountering pop ups on the Forum. Seems like when I switch to a new subject/window another pop up appear on the left side of my view. I am now looking at links for "Horse Events, Trail Riding Horse, Sale Horses" and seven other links. Sometimes an ad will pop up in the lower right corner of a new window. This only happens on the IHMSA Forum so I wonder if we have been hacked. The world won't come to an end but is very annoying.

No issues here Lynn. When was the last time you ran your anti-virus software.

Darn, I was hoping it wasn't me. Anti-virus runs all the time on my pc. Something messed up. Tired of looking at links for horse stuff. Will have to check this out. I hadn't posted for a while so I was due for a comment. Just didn't mean it to be a stupid question like this one.

Re: Pop Ups, just me or have we been hacked?????
Hey,
Had something like this a couple of months ago. Can't remember what I did, but I think I right clicked on the area, looked for the source, and then opened my spam or some other tool and it was under my allowed pop ups. Deleted the allowance and it hasn't been back. If you do find the source, or some emblem saying who sponsors it, google "how do I get rid of..." and that should lead you through it. I found some identifier, and yes it was horse crap, and googled the answer. Hope this helps.

Re: Pop Ups, just me or have we been hacked?????
FYI - My son (the pc guru) walked me through my problem and found the solution so I thought I would share it with everyone in case this happened to others. I used the IE gear symbol and selected "Manage Add Ons". I found something called "Lucky Leap" that had somehow been added to my pc. I disabled it and now MY forum works great. Sorry to mess up the forum with my problem but this just might be helpful (especially for me!).

Yeah, it was an add on, not a pop up. Sorry about the confusion.
