The coldest day of the year caused attendance to be off for our March match. Will Kirste drove nearly 250 miles to shoot with us today. He debuted his scoped Anschutz with a new center grip stock and was able to manage a 38X40 in UAS. He then re-entered his new toy and did better, scoring 39X40. That perfect score will happen soon, Will. Great shooting! David Heintz also drove a considerable distance to shoot with us. He and his Ruger Charger teamed up for a 39X40 in UAS-AA. David then entered his Ruger MK in Standing A class and bested my Standing AAA score. My brother Philip fired the only Field Pistol entry, managing a Production 22X40 with his TC 22 Hornet. He then fired the only 40X40 of the day with his Ruger Charger UAS gun. Cliff and Nina Johnson made an appearance but decided it was too cold to shoot. We’re glad they made the appearance though. I tried the Fifth Scale targets with my High Standard Trophy and was able to find a 33X40. Thanks to my wife Carolyn for braving the elements and setting targets all day. Also, thanks to Will & David for remaining after the match to help us pack up the targets and stands. Next match day is Sunday, April 7th. We hope to see you then.
