rifle scope for small bore

The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

To answer your question we need a bit more information. What category and position do you plan shooting this gun? Usually the 10" barrel would be used with open sights in the Standing or Production categories. If mounting a rifle scope for Unlimited Standing and using the taco hold you must make sure your hand doesn't extend beyond the muzzle of the barrel. This would be a safety issue. Another optional category could be Unlimited Any Sight. A rifle scope would require shooting the flop or prone position.

Everyone has personal preferences when it comes to scope selection so this isn't a easy question. Also may be the reason for lack of response. Here are the things I look for when purchasing a rifle scope for silhouette shooting in .22 categories.
First a variable scope with power range from 6-20 or 6-24. You may find 12-14 power all you need but as your skill level increases your need for more magnification also increases at the distant targets such as turkeys and rams. Variable power gives some flexibility on days that are windy or when you just can't seem to hold steady. You then can decrease magnification to compensate for difficulty holding on the target. Next I look for a scope that has a parallax adjustment down to at least 25 yards. There are many scopes that don't adjust less than 50 yards. If you were to shoot the flop/prone position in the UAS 1/5 scale category correct parallax is a must.
Next consideration would be target turrets. 1/4 minute adjustment is a plus in silhouette shooting due to the long distances but not mandatory. Under certain configurations you may end up rotating the dial more than a complete revolution with 1/8" MOA scopes. This causes confusion and I have started out a full rotation off in a few matches due to this problem using a high rise mount in US.
Last would be the type of reticle. I have used both duplex and dot. If a dot is selected and your shooting US the 1/8" is too small. Most would agree that the 3/8 and 1/2 are the most popular. If you are shooting flop/prone 1/8" will work just fine but I would still prefer a larger dot.
Once again the 10" barrel is suited better to the open sight categories.
Hope this helps, good-luck and let us know what you decide.

Hi
I use a 36x on my UAS .22 and have used it for US. I like the high magnification. It shows all of the jittering that is going on when lower magnification tends to mask it. For me the downside to the higher magnification is that it is very easy to get on the wrong target when shooting chickens or pigs. As mentioned earlier everybody has their own idea about the best scope to use.
