Hello, this is Joe Cullison, region 7 director.
I apologize for not posting in quite a while. I started a business in November and have been working 10-12 hours a day 6-7 days a week. I take a day off a couple of times a month to drive 400 miles round trip to shoot a match.
Most of my evenings and computer time are spent doing research for jobs or preparing bids for customers. Oh yeah, and I have a family too.

My situation may or may not be unique for other members or board members. We do the best we can which sometimes may not be near enough.

If someone has a specific question, please email me directly and I will see what I can do to get an answer. Generally I have my hands full with region 7 and the Big Bore records program so please ask your state or region director first. If all else fails then please contact me and I will see what I can do.

There is no time for me to cruise the forums looking for questions to answer but I will certainly respond to direct questions.
Thank you
Joe

To answer the copyright questions.
"copyright in a work created on or after Jan 1, 1978, subsists from it's creation and, except as provided by 'certain subsections' endures for a term consisting of the life of the author and 70 years after the authors death."
That is the legal definition of copyright law in the United States.

Therefore whoever wrote the article owns the copyright, whomever takes a picture owns the copyright of the photo, IHMSA owns the trademark to the logo used in the paper.

Technically you are required to obtain permission from the author and the photographer to reproduce and distribute their work if the paper had a copyright disclaimer. The IHMSA news has no such disclaimer. Posting the article with attribution to the newspaper is legal.

As a board member you have my permission to copy and distribute the paper.

Anyone that contributes to the paper does it for the good of our sport and would gladly accept any additional advertising or exposure.

Thank you for your efforts to promote our sport.
Joe

It's always easier to push down than to lift up,let's take the high road and keep IHMSA alive.
John,

I understand what you are saying, but I am asking them to do LESS and save money. Not asking them to do more.
