Basically, we are going to try something out.
If you have a valid email address, I will be sending the IHMSA news Via email. we are going to try this to further cut costs as printing and mailing can get expensive.
So, if you included an email address in your membership renewal, I should have peoples email address in the mailing list. I will not know exactly till the mailing list arrives later this week.
Thanks,
delivery of IHMSA news.

Re: delivery of IHMSA news.
Dan, Does that mean the IHMSA News will no longer be posted on the IHMSA Home page? I thought that was going to be the method of electronic distribution. I'm not opposed to getting it via email but that would just mean you or Cindy would be continually updating the email list. I would be surprised if a person with an email account would not be visiting the IHMSA Home page or the Forum every so often but I may be wrong (that wouldn't be new!!!).

Re: delivery of IHMSA news.
it will be going out 3 ways. email, on the website and by snail mail (for who pays for it).
as for size of the file, most months will be smaller than Jan/Feb issue. along with most email servers now allow sizes up to 20Mb

Re: delivery of IHMSA news.
An email with just a link to the current IHMSA news would be sufficient. It will help keep the members more in touch with the organization. Also a big thanks to Dan for taking on this job. See you in LA.

Nutcase, I paid twenty dollars in February of 2015 to recieve the news. To date, I have received 3 issues. I will not be fooled again when I renew in February of 2016.

I suggest we discontinue the printing of the paper copy and send a refund to all those people who paid for a paper copy.
I get the fact that some people may not use the internet and I say that any body that wants something bad enough will find a way to obtain it.

Emailing direct sounds great to me, that way those that have current memberships would get it and those that don't would have to pay their dues too !

I tried and had about 1/2 of the email servers rejected the email. 3 of them marked me as a spammer!tonedaddy wrote:I thought Dan said he tried emailing in another post and it did not work out?JACKIE40X40 wrote:Sounds like a good plan.captainjohn wrote:Emailing direct sounds great to me, that way those that have current memberships would get it and those that don't would have to pay their dues too !

Re: delivery of IHMSA news.
At a match yesterday 2 shooters were overheard saying they paid money and have not received news in the mail as they expected.
Before more members become disgruntled and possibly give up membership please at least send these guys a letter explaining the the status of IHMSA news. They expect a printed copy and do not receive it. Someone should have the mailing of these members.
Personally I feel the news should be electronic only. I also feel that members that do not use the web for news should be informed that printing is no longer financially possible and news is available on the IHMSA home page.
