Usually 180 to 200gr bullets are all that are necessary for Rams. For those you don't need a 1:8 twist. The 1:10 twist 30cal barrels stabilize those just fine. You should do a bit of trajectory research. A good one is www.jbmballistics.com They offer a library of bullets. Make your selection, define a MV you like and define your desired zero distance. For most beginning purposes you may ignore target speed, angles and wind speed. Keep it simple and let it show you where your bullet will be at any distance and the remaining velocity. rp

I have a SSK 300 Whisper that I could let go of. It is blue, 10.75". I have brass, dies and about 1500 190 gr HPBT bullets that need to go with it. If you are interested I will get exact numbers and a price together.
