Passing of Don Bower
I received notice from Mike Bellm that Don Bower passed away on Tuesday, October 15. I don't know if Don ever shot silhouettes but he loved TCs and probably helped promote long range TC shooting as much as any other person. He was well known for shooting empty primer boxes at 500 yards with his TC Contenders. He was featured in several shooting magazines in 1986 displaying his long range shooting skills. I remember reading those articles and marveling at those extreme shooting feats. American Rifleman originally disputed his claims of hitting the primer boxes and finally in 1995 printed an apology and featured an article about Don and his shooting skills. Anyone who shoots a TC today owes a small debt to Don for proving how viable the TCs are for long range accuracy. There is a very good article about Don at http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=583
