Sight Info and Other Stuff

Post by marianigp »

Hi I'm new, I actually registered to ask a few questions.
First, I'm in Western Washington State and I would love to find a place to compete in 22 hand gun silhouette, is there a range around?
Second, what makes Freedom Arms revolvers so special?
And finally, what is the sight in the picture? I'm hoping someone will recognize the logo.
I need a mount for it.
Thanks in advance everyone.

I believe I have seen that logo in Lyman sight printed material.

first, on the sight. That is a lyman receiver sight. Only problem, part of it seems to be missing. also, the sight was redesigned over 10 years ago. the first link shows one close to yours. the second link shows the present day sight:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rifle-lyman-rec ... 0916935910

http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/sights/90-mjt.php

and now to the freedom arms revolver and what makes them special:

1. each gun is built like a swiss watch. each gun is hand crafted and built by hand for the tightest tolerances in the industry.

2. each cylinder is line bored. no other Mfr does this.

3. and the .22 revolver has 2 other items. these also the cylinder is cut with Match rifle reamers and also, the firing pin is a dual pin firing pin (supposed to keep the round centered during firing). only disadvantage is that a FA .22 will not chamber cheap ammo. it will only shoot Target Grade ammo.

and if you want more info, look at the video on their website:

Thanks guys. That's awesome. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to find the missing piece to the sight though.
I was hoping it'd be something I could mount on my contender.

thanks guys!
I appreciate the help.
It doesn't look like that Lyman mount will work on my Contender.
The Freedom Arms video is awesome. Now I want one.
Hmmmm.

Welcome to the site. Read everything here. You don't say what exact part of western Washington. Sometimes the closest range is in a neighboring state. Go to ihmsa.org and check out the schedule. Then mapquest those ranges you think may be nearest you.
