Possible ECC Shoot

The Anderson County Sportsman Club is thinking about hosting a East Coast Championship. Somewhat of a "sister" match to 19turkey's WCC. It will be a 4 plus day shoot fired on a tuesday through saturday. It is not positive we are hosting this match yet. If we can work it out with our club it probably will be the 1st week of May. That is the same week as the Ky Derby. We can shoot 400 plus guns those days. The 2013 regionals are already set so we can not combine the regionals with it.

We are hoping to get the support of all the shooters in this area of the country. For those that don't know where we are. Lawrenceburg is 25 miles west of Lexington Ky and 15 miles south of Frankfort.

greg, i won't be able to make it to your match, but hope you all the best with it if you decide to host it. maybe in 2014 we can make it a combined region 2 championship match also. allen

Craig, It will be a 60 round match.

Allen, A combined regional could be doable. But it would not be on the traditional weekends.

greg, let me know what weekend you could do it. the regionals do not have to be on memorial day and labor day weekend as far as i am concerned. would you want a 4 day match or would you like to add a few days. also could the match be for all catagories (sb,fp, 1/5 scale.bb, and 1/2 scale? thanks allen

It would be easy enoughto do within the ECC if it happens. Those elegible for Regional awards would have their cards marked and kept seperaetly for those trophies. They in turn would also be elegible for the ECC. It would be for every discipline except Air.

I don't know how Steve runs his WCC, but our ECC will be open to all IHMSA members. It will not be a championship in that they must have met their 2 guns in the previous year or be classified in a category to be elegible for a trophy. It will be just a big ole match. If a regional is fired, of course to be eligible a shooter must follow the rules in place at the time.

We are hoping for the week prior to the first Sunday of May every year.

We have the dates with the club. It will be April 30th through May 4th 2013. David the match director and myself are open to hosting a combined regional in 2014 in the same time frame. If you plan on going to a regional match next year or the Internationals and have to choose one by all means attend the regional or Internationals.

Lots of people said they would like to see a match of this type in the east. Well here it is.

I have received more inquiries recently. Several from Ohio and one from Florida. We are working hard on this. I will keep you updated. David and I are supposed to meet and make more plans in the near future.
