Ideas for consideration:

Handguns: Precision Handgun: Rational text needs to be changed to match "Handgun" topic.

Cartridges: Instead of adding a single bottleneck cartridge, simply eliminate "straight-walled" from "a" to include >10 current production bottle-necked cartridges. Might also consider including "SAAMI approved" or such wording to exclude wildcats.

All well thought out, all well written, all very necessary and applicable.

I support every single one.

Regarding this proposed change:

3. Precision Handgun
i. Any hunting style handgun with a maximum length of 25 inches
ii. Any sight or optics are allowed

If someone were to buy a new handgun and new optics to participate, what would be the most likely choices (small bore and big bore)?

Good list! What about choices for optics? 20 +/- inches of EER and parallax-free to 25 yds.

Vortex Crossfire - Parallax adjusts down to 10 yards. I have a few of these. They are pretty good for China made.

Check out this Vortex on clearance. It goes down to 30 yards.

Sightron s-tac 4-20x50 - One has a duplex, and the moa reticle has a 1/4 min dot. I have the duplex but really want the dot. Parallax adjusts down to 10 yards.

Athlon Argos HMR - April has this model on a cz rifle. The dot is bigger than 1/2 min, but it has 25 min in one
revolution. One turn could get you to 200 yards with a 22lr. This really helps to not get lost in the scope. Parallax adjusts down to 10 yards.

Open sights:
To avoid similar problems in the future, the rules should address the symptoms, in this instance production guns sold without factory sights, not create a never ending list of exceptions. Something like:
A. Handguns without factory sights can be drilled and tapped to accept …
