FA 22 Lead Build-Up

Post by kerdunk »

Does anyone else have lead build-up on their FA 22 frame above the barrel, on the underside of the top strap? If so, any recommendations for removal? FA says to soak the area in Hoppes. But short of soaking the entire gun (less the grips), I’m not sure how this is practical.

I just clean mine with some bore cleaner and a brass brush. it removes the carbon buildup along with any lead.

Pick up a lead removal cloth, I’ve had great luck with them is several different applications. Should be available at any sporting goods store with a gun department.
