Re: .221 Fireball on 1/2 Scale?
Rich H. In the 10'' .223 I am trying 10gr 4759. I know, it can be tough to find. As this does not occupy a lot of volume in the 223 case there is need for caution. I believe positioning the charge against the primer wont get you into trouble. Having the charge lay spread out may invite a flash over on firing. I'd avoid that, and I'd be very careful of exceeding 10.0 gr by very much. There were some postings about using Blue Dot in the 223. I tried one or two but didnt get satisfactory results. I still am not able to comment on knock-down of a 200m half scale ram. rp

Is this a suggestion? or have you tried it?
I have 1500 25 cal 100 grain blems from Midway....as I age I am more tempted to spend money on odd calibers, although I have learned a hard lesson on obtaining dies first.....

Re: .221 Fireball on 1/2 Scale?
I have made inquiry as to odd calibers on the 221 case, and have a Shilen stub left from a 6.5x47 build from Steve Roe at Apache Machine. A 6.5 Whisper is not out of the question, as is another 6 Whisper in a TC.
For my recent build, I did settle on a 6 Whisper on my XP receiver. Gunsmith called this week, my rebarreled action should be ready to pick up on Monday. I will need to open the barrel channel on a factory xp rear grip stock....any advice on that procedure is very much appreciated.
Honesty dictates that I admit, I am a shooter much more than I am a stock maker. Once I get the barrel channel opened, I will probably take it to a auto body shop and have some putty added that I can sand & shape to routine stock dimensions.

Re: .221 Fireball on 1/2 Scale?
I have tried the 25-221 improve with successful results. I originally had it built to shoot ½ scale. So I tried it twice on BB shot 2- 40's. Just having trouble with ½ scale. Operator malfunction LOL.
