Field Pistol Legal Modification

Post by Grizzly_Bear_69 »

I just completed some load development on my Bullberry 32-20 barrel. Pulled the scope off and went to put on a shiny new Ken Light rib (peep rear / taco hold)...and there is an issue. The front sight holes on the Bullberry barrel are about 0.060" too far back (half a hole) for the Ken Light Rib Holes to line up.

Would it be still rule legal to open up the holes in the rib or am I pretty much otta luck for this barrel?

Thanks...

IMHO, I would send the barrel & rib back to Bullberry & ask them to make the modification. Since the correction would be made by the barrel manufacturer, I do not see a problem. But, this is only the opinion of one lowly match director.

I agree with Steve. Let Bullberry fix your problem. Ask for a work order clearly describing services rendered. Whether they charge you or not. Keep it with you at all times in case you are protested. I dropped and broke my Jim Ishmael grip. I had him repair it and I keep the receipt with me for the repair at all times.

Like Steve the humble opinion of a former match director and current state director.
