40th Anniversary

Post by braud357 »

I just paid my dues renewal and realized that this is my 40th anniversary as a IHMSA member ! I joined at a match in Lafayette, LA in May, 1980. What a ride it has been ! I am also reminded of the many friends I have made during this journey, and I am also reminded of the friends that I made here that have passed on. Who else here has been a continuous member for 40+ years - I know of many ! Philip Braud IHMSA #13794

I'm just a little behind both of you at 39 years. Just seems like yesterday I was tearing my hand up with my 30-30 TC in Production.

This too is my 40th year. I joined in December 1980, and shot my first match in Victoria, Texas in January 1981. I did not
get to shoot at my "home" range, New Braunfels, Texas until March of that year. Although I had been a handgun hunter since 1965, and killed numerous whitetail deer with a handgun, silhouette shooting was a very humbling experience! I found out that I wasn't quite the pistolero I thought I was. I can say with certainty tho, I have never met a nicer bunch of people than silhouette shooters. I was 34 years old then, and I'm 74 now. The odds are certainly against me for another 40 years, but I will continue on in this sport until I'm no longer physically able to participate. Thanks to all of you I have shot with over the years, and for all the help I've received from you.

Not a member yet but looking to be a part of the community. I had a little group before when I was living in the US but I had to leave this group after I decided to move to Greece. Here it's kinda hard to find such group for me since I don't know any greek but I really want to. I decided to buy villa in Greece 5 years ago and I'm living here now, is there anyone who lives in Greece as well?
