I currently have 3 MGM barrels with a 4th (7TCU) on order. I have had zero issues with them.
I am curious as to the ages of your frames.
I've been swapping the three current barrels on a single Contender frame, vintage of around 1989 or 90.
The new 7TCU barrel is going on a new G2 frame. I've tested the 3 existing barrels on the G2 and they fit perfectly.
Give them a call and talk to Marshal Sip.

Re: Loose MGM Contender Barrel
The oldest is an easy open conversion of a front pivot trigger guard. The newest (stainless) is probably late '90s bought NIB sometime before 2016, i think. The two blued frames were Dave Chaney's.
Reloading dies showed up, hopefully the gas checked bullets will be here soon. (If things work out, maybe get some .30 cal moulds and GCs for wintertime casting duties.)
Would perfer to use the stainless frame for .22 rimfire and maybe some .22 Hornet humiliation. (I can shoot my FPAS .44 revolver better than any Contender combo tried to date!)
