Hello,
I'm returning to this sport after many years absence. I purchased a Thompson Center Contender 7mm TC/U since I like to reload and make cartridges from scratch. My gun is a stock TC with a 10 inch barrel and stock sights. I'm not sure I will make it to the range before participating in my first match so I was wondering if people could share sight settings for their stock gun. I would assume it would be in clicks up from the bottom. That's how I used to do it...
If I do make it to the range these settings will make it easier to sight in my pistol.
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Re: Thompson Center Contender 7mm TC/U Sight Settings
I sighted mine in at 100 meters on the pigs, That was with a 6 o'clock hold on the belly over the front leg. That was recorded as my zero...how many clicks from the bottom it took to get there.
For chickens, I didn't change anything, just held on the belly of the target.
For turkeys, I came up 2 clicks, again a 6 o'clock hold on the belly.
For rams, up three more clicks from whatever I was using on the turkeys. Again, tight hold on the belly, or up an additional click and a loose hold with daylight showing under the belly.
These are not written in stone for 10" 7mm TCU's, but what worked for me. TC sights can vary, sometimes quite a bit. That is why I eventually changed all of mine over to a Bo-Mar/Bond setup.

Re: Thompson Center Contender 7mm TC/U Sight Settings
Good advice for 80X80. Of course it mostly depends upon the load you are using.
I used 139 Hornady bullets for all four animals and was close to what 80X80 quoted.
Might need one or two more for the turkeys and rams based on your load.
7TCU is pretty accurate cartridge with just about any load and my loads were pretty wimpy compared to other shooters.
Surprisingly I was able to bore sight my gun and line up the sights for the chicken at least. Adjusted from there to get well centered hits.
If I remember correctly, once centered on chicken, came up 1 for pigs, up two for turkeys then maybe 3 or 4 for rams.
All sight pictures were at bottom of each target.
Welcome back. You have picked a great cartridge to get back into the game.
Rams are set much better these days so you don't need the real killer loads like the good old days.
Have fun!!!!

Im with Lynn , your load has a lot of bearing POI . I run a 160 cast over 20 gr of RL7 it fairly stout but accurate. I set for top of front sight at leg/body on chickens, belly of pigs on same setting . I believe up 1 or 2 middle of leg on turkeys , up 1 more to belly of rams . This is T/C factory sights .
