A note to all the ladies of IHMSA. If you already belong to IHMSA I'm sure you know how much fun this can be and how many wonderful new friends you can make. But do your other friends know why it is so much fun? I had no idea what this sport was about until I was 60 years old. This is my 5th summer of shooting. I retired from my job and my husband told me I should come to a match. I was scared to death, but soon found out I had no reason to be. My first match I shot a Smith & Wesson standing and got a 6X40. All the good people at the match carried on and praised me like I had done a super job! That was when I was hooked. Others in IHMSA went out of their way to help me to shoot different guns and different ways, and learn to shoot better. That's what our group is like! Everyone of the members started at the bottom sometime! We need more lady shooters. Lots of ladies don't realize it, but we can shoot right up there with the men! It gives us an enjoyable place to go with our husbands. I can say to my husband "Come on lets pack up and go to the zoo" and I don't get to go! But if I say how about going to OKC for their State Match next week he is out the door before I am! Josie Engle, a lady shooter held the standing record for many years with a 37. I immensely enjoyed forming a team with Robin Weaver and Teresa Colman. But we needed another lady! Come on ladies we can do it! Lets get are family and friends informed on how much fun we can have and start shooting!!
