Contender 22LR Match barrel

The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

Contender 22LR Match barrel

Post by ouraydog »

I have noticed that some rounds are very tight fitting in my 22LR Match barrel. I have used target grade ammo from four different manufacturers and find a few tight rounds in every batch. Is this normal with the contender barrel?

I cant speak to the TC barrel as I dont have one but my MGM match barrel is hard to close every shot because the bullet is pushed into the rifling as the action is closed.

I have also removed rounds and found rifling marks on the bullet.

That is what the TC barrel is supposed to do, engage the bullet into the rifling on closing. It might take a little snap to close it solidly.
