There is no Production Any Sight category except in Field Pistol.

Unless you are talking about the proposed Practial Hunter classes.

A SB Production gun with optics is an is shot as an Unlimited Any Sight gun.

by all means shoot what have. silhouette shooting is all about having fun. it is not an equipment race!! i shoot against myself every match, not to win everything. allen

I have a Ruger that I use occasionally in silhouette, entertaining gun to shoot. I know it won't compete with my Anschutz .22, but it is cool to take it out and shoot it occasionally and a local match. After all, the point is to improve yourself as a shooter, and so even though I probably couldn't win an overall match with it against superior guns, I keep track of the scores I shoot with it and try to better myself each time I shoot it. And it is handy to be able to kick out spent cartidges on your neighbor just for fun.

Kruzer, How about an update on your progress this year with the Buckmark Hunter? Has it lived up to your expectations and do you feel it was the right decision purchasing this gun over the Thompson Center? I have a 10" Ruger MKII which is an excellent shooter. After a trigger job by Jim Henry this gun seems to shoot as well as any Contender I own. Not saying the Ruger is better than a Contender but this gun definitely will shoot as well. Also a gun we can find at the local gun shop and purchase over the counter. Something that is pretty rare these days for our sport.
I personally think we need to add an L to every discipline with a price cap. At least consider Production. Such as Production L, max price $500 for example. Production as we know it would remain and all the "Custom" production guns out there would continue to compete. Just add a L on the score cards showing Limited Production. I believe this would draw new shooters that are presently intimidated by the cost of our so called production guns. If there is an accuracy question with the over the counter firearms in someones mind, this would group those types of guns together. On the IHMSA classification card just add the L next to the score. Should have very little cost to our organisation but still open the door to the commonly owned firearms.

Enjoy your Buckmark. I had one for a long time and it shot very well. Scoped it would shoot around 1 1/4" groups at 100 yds with Eley Target Pistol. When my eyes got to where Creedmoor no longer worked for me I let it go. I regret that.
