BB MATCH REPORT JPRPC Paducah, KY 5-31-15

Cool temperatures and overcast sky's set the stage for a great match at Jackson Purchase. This
day brought new participants which we welcome and thank you for attending.
Seems as if the Tactical 4 position club match is becoming popular with some fierce
competition. Top shooter was Tra Tharp hitting 38 targets in the Optic class. Tra has set the bar
quite high and we congratulate him for an outstanding performance. FYI, no one has shot a
perfect score in Tactical to date. Tra's score is the range record at this time.
With all the participation this has brought to our IHMSA match I want to urge each one to
consider bringing some of that talent to the line with a handgun as well. This is first and
foremost a sanctioned handgun match. Expanding your shooting experience will make you a
better marksmen. Shooting a handgun is also enjoyable and not quite as difficult as it appears.
Two categories open for the average type home defense or hunting handgun would be the
Bordello and IHMSA Practical Hunter. I can address any questions regarding rules for these
categories.
I would also like to thank those that travel long distances to support Jackson Purchase. Steve
Beck Montgomery and Steve Rafferty topped the most driven miles this month. Hopefully you
enjoyed your day and we hope to see you next month.
High shooter for IHMSA entry this month was John Howard with a UAS 39+6. John missed only
one turkey. Shoot-off targets were 1/2 scale turkeys. Always wonder how we can miss the larger
targets but do so well on the smaller shoot-offs? Great shooting John!
