Re: G2 contender back in Production!
Sweet. I have a few original frames and 1 G2 frame. I like it. I put Bellm springs in it and the trigger is much better than it was. The hammer spring is also stronger.
Last year at a match 1 guy kept knocking these which really chapped my bag but I think they are still good enough for anyone to use in the field or on steel. Especially beginners.
I use mine in smallbore US.

Great to see that Smith & Wesson has not given up on these. I do not have one, but would like a g2 frame. I will hold out for a deal before I buy one. Hopefully that happens because right now the ones I see are going for over $400.

Re: G2 contender back in Production!
I need to know if all G2 frames are like mine. I recently bought one of the early G2s NIB and it is EXTREMELY difficult to pull the hammer back. When I first got it, I could not pull the hammer back with my left hand and forget the wife even starting the hammer moving back . They made it really easy to open the frame but that doesn't help if the wife can't cock it. Is this normal for the G2?

I have 1 G2 frame. I bought it used and I'm not sure what vintage it is. The hammer wasn't bad to pull when I got it. I did put a heavier Bellm spring in it. Very easy to change.
