Lt. Col. Steve Riddle Ret.

Post by i26963 »

It's with a very heavy heart that I type this.. Lt. Col. Steven Riddle, Ret., passed away on Dec. 15, 2011, from a battle with cancer.
Steve, Robert Walker, and I (The 3 Amigos) travelled to many matches, and when Steve lived in GA, we all 3 ran the matches at Little River Gun Club. I will miss my brother.
No funeral plans have been announced yet.
Regards

When I saw the subject I knew what the message was & my heart sank. 2011 has been a very bad year for loss of loved ones and friends. Steve was a dear friend, having visited and stayed at my home and shot the West Coast Championship. In fact, it was Steve that was instrumental in allowing a change of our match that has made it the success that it is. I will miss him!

Steve Riddle was one of the "good guys" - no, better yet, one of the great guys that have made IHMSA great. I had the pleasure of getting to know Steve - sharing the firing line, conversations, and many lively discussions over a good meal. I have missed him - and now I miss him even more. I cherish the discussions that we shared when he was Region 2 Director, and wholehearteded supported him as IHMSA president. I considered him to be a friend, and I hope he felt the same about me. Enjoy your rest, old friend - you deserve it ! -- Philip Braud

I have many cherished memories of silhouette shooting. One of my most cherished is being with Steve at many matches. Steve was a giving and considerate man. We are all truly diminished by his passing. Rest in peace my friend.
