COMMENTS
First, a big JCSA thank you goes to Mike Abel and Kevin Baker. These gentlemen came to the range yesterday on their own and groomed the berms so that the Half Scale shooters would have great target definition. And they did a marvelous job!

On the Field Pistol side of things, Dave Whitman was our Production champion, and he did it with his unofficial Standard Handgun entry, a Smith & Wesson 686, using Kentucky windage only. For the record, Dave was also our 2010 Standard Handgun champion. Charlie Dean came out of AAA class to take the Production Any Sight title. It is always fun to see a AAA shooter beat an International shooter.

In Unlimited One-Fifth Scale, Steve Ware was our champion. He also took the Unlimited Any Sight title in Small Bore.

Mike Abel had an outstanding day with Half Scale. He had a new Unlimited pistol that he had not entered in a match yet. He fired an impressive 39, missing only the first ram. He then fired a 40 in the Any Sight category for an aggregate of 79 putting him into the Half Scale Aggregate Club. Dave Whitman tied Mike with a 40 also, but Mike’s 5x5 at the shoot-offs took the title. However, Dave was our High Senior

Rich Burket fired an impressive 34 with his Winchester model 69 rifle on the Small Bore course. If that was not his highest score with that rifle it has to be darned close to the top.

On the Small Bore side, Don Ritz was our Production champion. Charlie Dean took the Revolver and Unlimited titles. Larry Hixson was our Standing and Unlimited Standing champion. His scores also put him into the President’s 100 Club 3 gun aggregate and 60 Club Standing aggregate. Cristine Able was our High Lady.

Thanks to Don, Fay, Mike, Charlie, Larry, Kevin, and Cristine for helping to set up and tear down the range and run the match.
