Re: Want to buy
Are you referring to the '76 Octagon bolt action and Tapered Octagon barrel?
Did it even come in a 30-30? Only ones I have ever seen were in 7mmPPC. And have a BIG Price tag to boot

Re: Want to buy
Watch Gunbroker. There is always one or two listed there. The current one is in .357 max though. I have seen one in 7mm int which should be close in power to 30-30.

Re: Want to buy
Jim,
I think you are referring to the Wichita Single Shot (Break Action).. Not the limited run of "classic" bolt action Pistols and Rifles they did in '76ish
If your after the Single Shot Break Action in 30-30 then call Wichita.. I believe they do have a few there.
This is the Wichita "Classic Pistol", this one is in .223 and selling for $4300.00
Cody Abel.

Re: Want to buy
I do like the 357 MAX but it is a little less forgiving...
Re: Want to buy
Bobcat, I am not sure if it was made in a 30-30, but it may have.
Re: Want to buy
The 357 listed is a Wichita International (WIP) and I already have one. (Wichita made a 357 Supermag not a 357 MAX)
I am looking for a bolt action.
I am looking for a bolt action.
Re: Want to buy
I am looking for the Wichita classic pictured by bobcat I just did not realize the price was quite that high.

Re: Want to buy
I think there is a 7mmPPC floating around for $3300.. and a 7mmPPC Pistol & Rifle Pair somewhere in the 8K range
Only ones I have seen in the last few years go for sale online.
Can always get a good Wichita Silhouette or Mk40

Re: Want to buy
I had a Wichita pistol (NOT Classic) in 7 International and currently have a MK40 in 7 International. The regular Wichita bolt gun is a fantastic shooter so unless you just want a Classic for the looks, I would suggest getting a MK40 or the wood stock version of the bolt gun. The first one I had was just the wooden stock bolt gun and the stocks are solid wood so I cut off the big thumb rest and put finger grooves in the stock. Made it much easier to hang onto and really fit my hand. Probably sacrilege to modify the wood stock but it turned out great. The 7 International is a great cartridge. Most used 300 Savage brass but that is hard to find now. Just take 22-250 and neck it up since that brass is everywhere. Wichitas are great guns!!! Another tip! If you don't like the four position rear sight (I didn't) you can use a rear sight for an XP. The barrel contour is a little different and if you don't grunt down on the sight screws too much and use lots of Loctite the XP sight works fine. Front hooded sight for XP fits fine too.
