I am unable to hold still with my Charger pistol. I shake like crazy and believe the stock is causing me problems. This is my opinion and based on the size of my hand. Lets start with a few measurements. I have added pics of a Ruger Mark III for comparison.
Distance from web of thumb and first joint of index finger--2.9"
Distance from valley to trigger, Mark III--2.5"
Distance from valley to trigger, Charger--3.1"
Distance from back of grip, perpendicular to trigger--3.3"
Distance above trigger centerline to valley--approx. 0.5"
Pics:
Arm and wrist in line with barrel of gun, Mark III
Finger on trigger in relation to above pic.
Finger "on" trigger with Charger held the same as Mark III (in line with barrel)
Mis-Alignment of arm and wrist on Charger to reach trigger.
LOP Mark III
LOP Charger, as well as valley over centerline of trigger.
NOTE: Pics are not in order with notes above and are in 2 separate posts.
It seems to me that the whole grip should be moved closer to the trigger guard and the valley should be lowered about 1/2" to line up your finger to the trigger centerline. What do you all think? Did Ruger not actually have someone hold and shoot the Charger before it went to market?

Re: Charger factory stock
David, Check AZGuy on RimFire Central. He makes beautiful stocks for Chargers that snuggle up right behind the trigger guard and will solve your problem. I was looking at his web site today
http://markbondffl.com/sonoran-custom-g ... plicating/
His name is George Gillespie. He has maple, walnut and laminated stocks.

Re: Charger factory stock
Hey Lynn, I already know about Azguy. In fact when he started posting about what he was going to do, I gave him a lot of input. As you can see this original post is over a year old and I was able to get a Hipshot designed stock, as seen in my avatar. Now I am retiring that to go to flop. Bought a cheap Axiom stock to cut up ( No way was I going to chop up my custom stock). So now it is just hiding in the bottom of my gun cabinet. Haven't shot the new stock or shooting position or even sighted in my new 6-18x scope yet, so my next match will have a low score I'm sure.260 Striker wrote:David, Check AZGuy on RimFire Central. Re: Charger factory stock
David, I didn't pay attention to date on your post but glad to hear you were able to find another stock. I got an ATI tactical stock and cut it down for my Charger. Doesn't look good but is better feeling than Ruger stock. I too am going to try the flop and need to cut off the grip so don't feel bad about modifying this cheap stock. Also need to do some work on forend to get a flatter bottom. I think the flop with a rifle scope is going to be much more accurate for me than creedmore and long eye relief scope. No recoil to worry about and could even use the gun in US. Good luck on your Charger project. They are fun little guns to play with. Lynn
