Speaking for myself, sometimes I find it alittle intiminating to chat with someone on line that I don't know.Even though our interests are pretty much he same,at times I don't know what to talk about. Some of the people know each other and have met at different matches so chatting back and forth is easy.It does become easier when you become familiar with most everyones handle.I hope the idea of a chat room pans out.My thought was having a Friday/Saturday night session would keep everthing at a specific time period until participation increases.kg4ty,Thanks for getting this started.I hope this works out

Sorry I was late last night and didn't get to log in until 9:30. I made a post then but it didn't take for some reason. I hope the totals were better than before. It would be great to get more people to use the online forums. There is always something to learn from new/fresh comments.

I was good to see that a good number showed up last night. Chat would be a great idea.

Justin,
I'm just an average guy trying to have fun with a sport that I enjoy, which includes communicating with others on this forum. The point of this post was to generate some participation and get more people involved. You will see my reply to your post in "Forum Participation". It seems to me that you really don't care about the sport or adding anything productive to these forums. I've gone back through your posts and there are only about 3 out of your 13 that you aren't complaining or making what I hope are just bad jokes. Just Sayin

Post count is really irrelevant. I am really just confused about why anyone would register and then never post. I have seen your posts and you are a contributor already. Another question I have (not for you) but the "higher ups" is how many active shooters are there in IHMSA now. There has to be way more than the 347 or so registered on this site.

Sorry kg4tyr that's a personal JOKE alot of other forums I go to (not just gun) there is people that answer questions right or wrong just to get their post count status moved up (self ego thing I guess). you know been a member 3 weeks and post count is 300. there a name for them but I won't post it here. this maybe the only forum I go to that you do not see that

I come here because I'm new at the sport the closes place to shoot IHMSA is 3 hours BB, SB/ 5 hours FP/SB
I have no one I can talk to live this , e-mails and SP is the only place I can get answers so if this site dies I lose big time

If I get this right. Boomer volunteered to "fix" the original IHMSA discussion board. This is what he came up with. I personally think he has done a wonderful job. As far as participation, it is geared towards people of like interests. I certainly have no desire to discuss things on a benchrest or IDPA discussion board. I do lurk on a sight such as that occasionally.

As a recruiting tool the match reports can go a long way. Those of us that have shot for many years may not pay much attention. But, new shooters and and those that have shot personal bests like seeing their name here. I make the Lawrenceburg report as soon as I can after a match. I try to include new shooters, juniors and personal bests in the reports. If a lurker that lives in the area sees my report they may come out. So my plea is MDs post your scores. If your MD can't, please volunteer to do it for them.

I said in a earlier post I would talk to Boomer on the 29th. He was not at the match. I am going back to Crittenden this weekend. If I see him I will ask him about a place to chat.
