Blast shield needed

Post by Rodent »

Dang it. I sold mine to Brian. I knew I should not have done that.
So....now I am in need of another. Does anyone have one that is collecting dust?

Mike, go down to the local welding supply and buy a welders leg shield, cut the shoe top off of it and proceed to have fun. Been using one for years.

What I was able to find is that you can find a local leather shop or Saddle shop and ask them for a piece of Split Pearl and they should be able to offer you about 3 different thickness grades. Split Pearl is the gray tanned leather from the hide that is usually what the welders gloves, aprons and Ferrier aprons are made of. My local saddle shop has made my blast shield and cut it to my specific application and sewn the strap to it as I requested. I have had my blast shield since 1996.

That is like the one that I had, but was ignorant enough to let it go. :)
