Sweetwater, Texas

Post by LOCKHART »

A fellow at the CTSA match in New Braunfels told me that Sweetwater is no longer holding silhouette matches. Has anyone else heard about this?

It was reported that Richard Porter was retiring from running the match

Hmm, figured Mondo Renteria would take over, but he might be burned out too. It's a pretty thankless job. Ask me how I know!

Richard has formally retired after 40 years as match director! I ask Richard if Mondo was still shooting at the Internationals. "He said that Mondo was having heath issues.
He did say say that he and Janie was still going to shoot.

I don't know any of those gentlemen but my hat is off to them for keeping silhouettes alive in TX. Sure hate to see any range shut down. Certainly understand the reasons. Hope someone else steps in and lets these men relax and shoot for a while.
