Re: Scoping a .22 Hornet for FP question
Have to go along with the group. My wife and I have both been shooting Hornets in NRA for a few years, IHMSA field pistol the last couple. Rifle scope works fine, just that as magnification goes up- so do the wobbles. We both use light loaded 40 gr pills and rarely lose a ram.

Re: Scoping a .22 Hornet for FP question
I do have a couple extra red dots on the shelf that I considered, but I'm thinking with my lousy eyesite, I would probably do better with a scope on a low setting.phoenix555 wrote:My partner uses peep sights, but I prefer the red dot on our .22 Hornets. With the peeps, I found I was getting a bit flinchy – whilst I've only changed over to the red dot recently, it feels more comfortably as I can hold it out a bit further.
We use 8.5gn of ADI 2205 (Aussie powder), with a 55gn Hornady pill.
Have you noticed any problem getting on target without magnification?

I use a 3x-9x rifle scope on a Ken Light Mid-Rise mount on my .22 Hornet, no trouble. I put my left hand on the scope, taco style.
