NUMBER OF ROUNDS FIRED IN 2016

Post by BLACKBEAR »

Just did a summary of my 2016 IHMSA season: 1860 center fire rounds fired and near 800 rounds of 22LR.

Dell hauled the old guy over 6000 miles with trips to Idaho, Oklahoma and LA.

Time to inventory bullets, powder and primers and crank up the Dillion 650's.

I have not kept track of my round count, but I was only able to shoot 1 big-bore match this year, and we lost 2 smallbore matches - one to rain, and one to a flooded range. I hope that 2017 will be a better year !

what Philip said. I got a new promotion at my job and have to work almost every weekend. it makes it hard to attend a match although the nearest one is 200 miles away. I plan on making it to Oklahoma next year. Allen

I try to keep track of my round count on the new additions to the fleet. I too drive 170 miles to attend the match but look forward to it every month that I can because this gets me pretty much the only trigger time to shoot the steel targets.

Well, not many shots taken compared to you BLACKBEAR. 450 Big Bore, 225 Field Pistol, and 450 Small Bore. That's only 1125 total but way more than I've been shooting the last few years.

Five trips to Idaho Falls, ID from South Jordan, UT and back so not many miles either.

It turns out that I've never had to trim my .22 Hornet cases before and some have just crossed the max length point. Picking up a new shell holder and pilot so trimming can begin. The price of powder, primers, and bullets are a lot higher than I remember.

Total shots fired at IHMSA matches is 3190.

Probably another 600-800 at NRA matches.

Had a bad 2016--building a house with yourself as contractor seriously takes away from weekend range time. #:-s

Shot Jan & Feb 2016, (for a whopping less-than 200 rounds of rimfire, match plus sighters) but then the home project started in March...but: I got out to the range this past week so 2017 is looking like a better year!

I also got a full bore UAS pistol, so I'm looking forward to shooting that this year too. The old timers have been great about passing their 25-time-fired brass and other reloading doodads down to me too. Kidding on the brass--they're helping a new guy out by sharing old/surplus equipment so I can get going and add another body to the big bore matches too. :-bd
