World Championships 2015

Post by jcunclejoe »

The board has voted and the 2015 IHMSA World Championships will be held at LASC located at the Angeles Shooting range just outside of Los Angeles, CA on July 10th through the 17th.

Time to visit the West Coast and bring plenty of guns and ammo.

Guns in California are not too big of a deal. Here is a link to CA gun laws concerning Transportation:
http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/travel
Pretty simple really. Handguns need to be unloaded and in a locked container (padlock, combination lock, key lock), and a trunk is considered to be a locked container. Since we all travel with our guns unloaded and in hard cases anyway, this is normal if you have a trunk, otherwise use a lock on the case and you are good. No special requirements for ammo. :) :)

Guess renting a hatchback is out!
Told wife she's lucky IHMSA is my mid life crisis, it's cheaper than a Corvette or chasing younger women!

Naw. Go ahead and rent the hatchback. You just have to buy a padlock for your gun case.

Although I will not be able to attend unless my lottery numbers come up. I'm glad to see a venue that is large enough to host it properly is willing to do so. I like that the board is willing to move it around the country, now if we can find a place a little closer to the eastern part of the U.S. to do it. I have always been a proponent of ranges able to do so to host it once every 5-6 years. Moving it back and forth between the east, west, north and south. That keeps the volunteers and the non IHMSA members of the club from getting burned out.

Also posted this on Facebook. I would respectfully suggest to IHMSA HQ and/or the MD at LA to contact Jim Scoutten at Shooting USA so they can plan coverage of the 2015 World Championship. I contacted Jim last year and he agreed they had not covered an IHMSA event for quite some time. It was too late for them to cover the 2014 event since they need at least three months to plan for a event. Jim can be reached at jim@shootingusa.com
It would be nice to have some national coverage in 2015.

you will have no problems with your ruger chargers as long as you do not try to sell it while in CA!

actually, the only reason you could not sell it is the 15 round Magazine. But if we catch you loading more than 5 rounds per string, you might get hell from the range officers :D :D

Just wanted to confirm the dates. July 10th to the 17th. So, it's starts on a Friday and ends on a Friday?
