Re: IHMSA PRESIDENTS COLUMN JULY 2011

My work keeps me from attending as many matches as I would like. This coupled with the number of different guns one is forced to choose between at the matches I get to attend makes things even harder. I would like to let the rule go away. Life would be much simpler.

Re: Caliber for 1/2 scale

I use a .22BR for 1/2 size open sights. I use a 1 in 7 twist barrel and shoot 80 grain bullets. I use a mild charge of Varget and have no issues with damaging targets. I can also use this combination on BB targets although I usually switch to 90 grain bullets for the rams. My scoped gun is currently...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi I am John Anderson. I shoot at the Oklahoma City gun club. I started shooting in the Houston area in 1991 where I was the

Re: Flopping in the yard

It sounds like your position is legal, just be sure no part of the gun touches the ground. It is difficult to keep the barrel pointed down range when pumping a 46M but it should be pointed down range. If I remember correctly I brought the gun up and held the cocking handle more or less still. This k...

Re: shooting chickens?

Your findings are in complete agreement with mine. The chickens may be the closest but there isn't enough steel out there for me to hit them all every time. Even from the freestyle positions I always breath a great sigh of relief when I finish the chickens.

Re: Favorite powders

When I first started shooting steel I started with H-322. Aftere about a year I switched to AA-2015 for 7 TCU and 7BR. I loaded AA-9 in 357 Mag and AA-1680 in 357 Max. In 2008 I switched to 6BR and .22BR for my full size and 1/2 size guns. With these I Swithched to Varget. I now use H-110 in .357 Ma...

Re: I dont get it...

Wow I have two of those scopes. I seem to remember paying 39.00 for it in the early ninties. They were called air gun scopes and the AO worked down to 10 yards. I tried them on a field pistols with a taco hold. I had one a a .22 that I still have and one on a .357 that worked great with 110 grain fi...
