I am passing this on. Jim Harris posted this on FB:
Left The Range: Richard Mishler
It is with heavy heart I have to announce the passing of the incredible handgun silhouette shooter, Richard (Rick) Mishler.
Rick's wife, Nancy, contacted me to say he had finally lost the battle he waged for several years against cancer.
Rick will be remembered for his outgoing personality and incredible marksmanship and will to win.
He began shooting NRA handgun silhouette, and later became equally devoted to IHMSA.
Rick acquired the nickname of "Bulldog" for his incredible determination to achieve legendary shooting accomplishments. He set many records in his career, particularly in the extremely difficult 1/2 Scale and 1/5 Scale categories, as well as 500 meter handgun (shot on the NRA Rifle Silhouette course). He won a number of NRA championship Freestyle Aggregate gold rings over the course of his career, as well as countless IHMSA championships.
Richard leaves behind his wife, Nancy, and son, Richard Jr. (Rich), and many friends and admirers. He will be sorely missed -- but always pleasantly remembered.
