I was wondering if this could be done since they are similar in dimensions. It is hard to find new 300 savage brass and 6.5 creedmoor is significantly less expensive and easy to get. I bought 100 rounds of starline 6.5 creedmoor. Ran 25 rounds through the 7mm ihmsa FL sizer and trimmed about .015=.020 off and VOILA! they ran through just fine. I will load and fire some this upcoming week.

Sounds like a plan to me!! Did you use the small primer pocket or large primer pocket?

Another option is to from from 22-250 brass which is much easier to find and less expensive.
I used the expander rod from my 7 TCU FL die in place of the decapping rod in my 7 IHMSA die and it worked great.
Hardly any trimming necessary.

Lynn is right, the 22/250 is the parent case for the 7 IHMSA.
The Creedmore is 30 TC parent case.

I used the large rifle primer brass.
I thought about using 22-250 brass and I have a FL 7 tcu die but it is a different brand and the threads do no match the brand sizer I have for the 7mm ihmsa so the 22-250 is not a viable option. It is good there are several different choices out there! Remember when the 7 BR first came out and you had to cut down a .308??!!
