Obama gets to appoint another Supreme Court justice.

This may just escalate me selling out & moving out of this country.

I agree with the article when it said the Republican lead Congress will probably block any Big O nomination.

What would really scare me is if Hillery would win(God forbid) and then nominates Obama for the high court.

A President does not ''appoint'' a Justice. He/She may nominate a person for the position. It may take several nominations before one is approved by the Senate. It is quite likely that this President will nominate a person as far liberal as possible. It is unlikely that a Republican majority Senate would give them the votes needed this year---or ever. The Court has functioned many times having only eight Justices. The loss of Justice Scalia serves us notice of just how fragile is the makeup of the Court.

Too bad they don't have term limits on the Supreme Court judges. . I think that is one thing the founding fathers got wrong. Judge Ginsburg looks like she can barely sit up let alone make judicial decisions.

Lynn, how sad would we be if Justice Scalia had been ''term limited'' out before the Heller decision was rendered ? And, yes, Justice Ginsberg will likely be one that is replaced by the next President----assuming she is still around then. The period ''Lifetime service'' was not nearly as long in the 1800s as now.

Playing politics here. What if the big o nominates a moderately left judge? Just close enough the middle that a good fight cannot be made to reject the nomination? That is my fear.
