The July match was a hot one . We had about 10 shooters fire 21 guns. The weather was hot and so was the shooting. I want to thank those that came and shot with us. Those that didn't you missed some fine shooting.
Jerry Stringham and Judy Morris came from Illinois to shoot with us. Jerry shot a very nice 34 in UASHS and a28 in US. Our match director david bemis bought a 300 Whisper barrel for US and shot a very nice 21. Old blind Will Curlin could only manage a 39 in in revolver with his cast bullets. If only that turkey hadn't moved. That was the highlights from bigbore.
On the smallbore side we got Rickey Foster to join IHMSA and he fired his first sanctioned scores. He classified in UAS with a fine 32. When we get him to settle down a little that score will go up. Your author managed to fire another 40. I didn't get the high speed wobbles as bad this time. We started a side match of .22 rifles last year. I always shoot it but I don't own a target grade rifle. I had been shooting it with a Ruger Charger. I had been disappointed with the results so far. So this time I decided to just shoot my UAS gun again as my rifle entry. Lo and behold I managed another 40. Two in one day.
Now to the shooter of the weekend. I told you in my last report that Anna Curlin is involved in some sort of other air pistol sport. Will brought her again to get some more trigger time with her air pistol. At her first match she shot a 18. This month she shot a 24 the first time which gave her a leg up from C to B. She then later shot a re-entry and fired a 26 which was a double break out. Which moved her automatically to B with a leg into A. Way to go Anna.
