Our July match was Independence Day weekend and we were on the backside of some substantial rain but in spite of that we had a good turnout. The star again this month was Jay Clark who seems to have found his pace. He is now International class in UAS and he scored yet another 40X40 today, sending him to a shootoff with my brother Philip Braud. Targets were five fifth scale chickens at 100 yards. Jay came out on top and has established himself as a real contender. Region 2 Director Allen Gaskin made the long drive to shoot with us and fired three entries. Philip continued to control Practical Hunter Short Course with yet another 40X40 with his T/C 22 Hornet. Cliff Johnson topped Practical Hunter 22LR managing a 35X40 with a Ruger Charger. All together we had 13 entries today on the handgun side and another 8 entries on the Cowboy Lever Action side. Top score for the rifles was Dustin Flint with a 38X40. Thanks to Bob, David, and Jay for staying late to help pick up the targets and rails.
