Hello all, fairly new here but am a regular on SP and DWF sites w/ the same id. I'm looking for some 375 brass for my Dan Wesson 375SM; either 375 WIN or SM brass. I'm deployed to Afghanistan right now, so my best contact is: ronald.semerena@us.army.mil

Ron, thanks for your service. You may have to cut Win 30-30 brass. At least there is a good supply of it.

I now have a total of 180 pieces of 375 WIN waiting for me at home. I think that's plenty right now. I'll be ordering an LBT mould for casting soon as well; unless someone has a suitable used mould for sale??

Watch the length of your bullet. A friend of mine wanted a heavy bullet for silhouette. The design he chose from Veral was too long for the twist in the barrel. To get acceptable accuracy he had to really push the velocity and pressures. He had to beat the cases out of the gun. With jacketed bullets it done fine. These are just my observations of another persons gun.

That's a good point, Greg. A number of years ago a friend had a t/c 14'' barrel in .375SM. As you know, most rifle bullets go at least 250 and some 280gr. He had a mould made I believe by RCBS that went at 230gr and shot very well. I chronographed it once and it ran up to 1600 or maybe 1700fps, I cant say 1700 for sure. You didnt have to be told that it fired. It performed well at less velocity, too. rp

I'm going to stick w/ 220-230 gr. The IHMSA Hornady bullets have a .506 nose from the cannelure, so that's what I'll have Veral work with; no more than .515". After doing some math I figure the longest nose possible would be .525" maximum.

I don't remember for sure but believe the LBT bullet in question weighed in the 230-240 range. I seem to remember maybe it was a LFN and all the weight was in the nose of the bullet. Thus it was too long to stabilize in the 1 in 18 3/4 twist of the super mags. Again I'm going by memory and it was not my gun and it was 20 years ago at least.

I have the same bullet in .357 and it does fine in my DW and a TC .357 mag and .357 sm.
