I was fortunate enough to share the range with Larry on a couple of occasions, even once in Pocatello back in 1996. This news saddens me. We are diminished with his passing. RIP Larry.

I did not have the honor of sharing a range with Larry but did exchange several emails with him about shooting and reloading. Always willing to provide information and to help someone, even a stranger like me. Our sport is honored to have many fine people like Larry and it affects us all when we lose one of our friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to his shooting friends at this difficult time. We can continue to honor his memory by supporting IHMSA.

I shot many matches with Larry. Traveled to the Internationals with him many times. Was there when he shot his first 40. He was the ram rod of the Pocatello IHMSA range. I have been away from the game for 15 years but still call Larry a friend and have many memories of him sitting around after a match chatting about the days events. He even has a club named after him. The 39 club, you had to miss the last ram to join the club. He will be missed.

Larry's passing is truly sad and shocking news. I had the great opportunity to meet Larry in early 1989. At that time he was the Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab at Pocatello Regional Hospital. I traveled from Albuquerque, NM to address a service issue in one of his labs. When entering the department Larry went out of his way to make me feel welcome. During that visit he told me about how much he loved fly fishing and his hobby of tying flies. He also enjoyed hunting and shooting.
At that time I was an IHMSA member and shooting with the Ram Slammers of Albuquerque. I told him about our sport and it sparked an interest that lead to what turned out to be a great friendship. I relocated to Pocatello and still remember the day we arrived in town. Larry and family chased us down and insisted we have dinner together. It was the first of many great times together. I am thankful for our friendship and kindness Larry and family passed our way.
Those of you that knew Larry know of the outstanding accomplishments in our sport. State Director, Region 7 Director and the key person orchestrating the purchase and construction of GCSSA, Pocatello.

I don't have words to describe how much he will be missed. His absence although we have been many miles apart in recent years leaves me with a very empty feeling.

Rest quietly my friend, our prayers are with you.
