Thank you to everyone that attended our July match. We had very good weather for a day at the range. Scores were not what most of us would have expected considering the conditions. An observation on my part is most everyone is shooting a new set-up or still trying to get there guns dialed in. We have a few that have started shooting Field Pistol and also Practical Hunter Short Course categories. Practical Hunter has categories in Small Bore, Big Bore Long Course and Field Pistol Short Course. I will send a separate e-mail that contains the rules for these approved IHMSA categories. This opens the door to shoot over the counter handguns and be competitive. Everyone is showing improvement as the season continues. I also would like to remind everyone that the East Coast Championship will be in Lawrenceburg, KY in the spring. Now is the time to work out the bugs and get dialed in before that match. Please consider attending, I'm sure most will find it enjoyable. We have a great group of shooters here at Jackson that would represent our club very well. You do not have to be a International class shooter to be competitive and enjoy yourself.
Thank you to everyone that helped with the range setup and resetting targets. Lynn McCutchen and sons once again provided a well groomed range to shoot silhouettes. This is much appreciated!
Also thank you to Jackson Purchase Rifle & Pistol Club for supporting our silhouette matches.
Next match is "Saturday" August 24, 2013.
