I am not using one, but have looked through one. For me, the eye relief was inadequate and the field of view was very small. I was not impressed with the clarity, either - but it could have been the particular scope I was looking through.

Disclaimer: I have not ever used one but people have told me exactly what Philip wrote. Look on the shooting line and you will see Leupold 2-8 and Bushnell or older B&L Elite 3200's.

I have never tried a Burris 3-12X but I did own a Burris 2-7X. The eye relief was incompatible with the traditional creedmore position. I could not use a power setting above 4X and get a full field of view in the eyepiece. It might work if you shoot flop position.

Hey Craig,

Make it 8. I used one for a while thinking I could saves little money. I had enough eye relief but only up to about 7 or 8 power.

I have to Agree that the eye relief is a little short on the burris at 12x. I almost never used it over 8x anyway.

but after 15 years of getting beaten up on various handguns including a 7mm-08 XP, it finally gave up and is now at the factory for repair.

I personally am looking at the Bushnell elite 3200 2-6x scope as it has the longest eye relief of all the scopes I looked at.
