Hi, my name is Jason . I have zero experience with silhouette.
I am trying to learn somethings.

My name is Sam Grado. I used to shoot in IHMSA matches in Northern California back in the late 1980's, early 1990's at the Nevada County Sportsmen's Club in Nevada City California, and matches held in Lincoln CA, Marysville CA & Stockton CA.

I shot small bore factory production (Browning Buckmark Silhouette) and big bore unlimited (TC Contender 357/44 Bain & Davis), 44 Magnum.

IHMSA needs a presence on Facebook.

I would love to see a resurgence of this great sport!

I probably know you as I was the match director of Stockton in the early 1990's and I shot at Nevada city and Lincoln. I am lousy with names and faces.

As for Facebook, we used to have a presence on it, But the constant daily harassment by Facebook, we ended up removing it and moved to Mewe.

I’m new here. From North West GA. I’ve been a handgun hunter for the last decade or so. I’d like to start shooting silhouette, but don’t have any idea where or how to get started. Any help would be appreciated!

I’ve got 2 single shot scoped pistols I regularly hunt with and a 10mm 1911 I’ve started hunting with this season. I have a 3rd single shot in the works.

Gainesville, at Cherokee Gun Club (South Eastern Silhouettes) doesn't have Big Bore, but we do have Field Pistol. If you want to shoot Big Bore you'll have to go to Lincolnton. The 10mm can be used for Field Pistol, but 1911s in general can be a challenge. I've got a balky but accurate 9mm 1911 with a micro reddot that does well when I can get it to feed. Another regular shooter has been making progress with an iron sighted .38 Super. SES has quite a few FP and FPAS revolver shooters, though. (After years of "struggle" I made AAA in both categories using .44 magnum revolvers with swaged lead bullet loads.) I believe our new Region 2 director has a fondness for revolvers as well...

We also have a non-IHMSA shooter who has hunted over a large part of the US with nothing but handguns for many years. Alligators, bears, elk, etc.

Next match in GA is probably the first Saturday in February.
