I think this is an excellent idea. Anything we can do to keep people interested and if at all possible, ACTIVE, is good for us.
I would be happy to participate. I am very fortunate to have a 100 yard smallbore range in my Pasture.
Be well everyone.

I have access to a private 100 yard range so I can play. I guess we just need some sort of portal where we can post results.

It feels like there is some interest and some hesitation with the idea of a postal. Can I suggest the following? If you would like to send me your relevant information (i.e. name, discipline, class, and scores) via email, I will post a spreadsheet of the all the scores.
We could make the first “match” the week of April 20. Send me your demographics and scores between April 20 and April 26. I will post the results ~April 27. If Week 1 goes well, we can do a Week 2. If it picks up steam after a few weeks, we can figure out a more elegant system. If it sputters, well at least we gave it a shot.
I’m new, so it will be a leap of faith for you. But I’m not winning anything! I’m going to shoot SB US. If I shoot 20+ I’ll be overjoyed.
If you are in ...

If I’m out of line, no hard feelings on my end. Just tell me to knock it off.

Tim, thank you for doing this - and good luck to those lucky enough to have a place where they can shoot and participate ! I, unfortunately - do not !

THIS MATCH IS ON!
I am very pleased to report that Kerdunk and I are teaming up to run this postal match. We revised slightly to run it just as you would run a multi-day match. This match runs on the K.I.S.S. principle. We're just doing this to have fun and get some fresh air and keep in touch via internet. It runs on the honor system. Scores do not go on your membership card, do not count as IHMSA records or Presidents Club, do not count toward classification. If your range is closed and you can't shoot, it just falls into the life isn't fair category. Sorry.
3 matches in time frames from now until June. First match starts today and runs thru April 30. Second match runs May 1-17. Final match runs May 18-Jun1.
Rules are simple. You set up your own match on any day during the time frame. Set up your own targets, run your timer, score yourself or with your spotter. Knockdowns, swingers, or paper, it's all good. If you cheat, you risk the wrath of the silhouette god Gunmal Funcheon.
Shoot as many guns in as many events as you want during the time frame. It's a multi-day match. Re-entries allowed but should be notated. You can shoot at your range, back yard, the field behind Billy Bob's milking shed, you get the picture.
No fees. We're just having fun. If you shoot with others, your social distancing is your responsibility.
Send your scores to Tim at the email he listed. Send them as you shoot them, no need to wait until the time frame ends. Tim will organize and publish the results.
I'm shooting Saturday!! Maybe Sunday too. Monday's looking good...

Shame it didn't start on this past Sunday. I shot a nice Small Bore Standing score in the pasture. Measured distances.
This will be fun. I'm in. And I have a great reason to shoot all of my guns.
Thank you all for the opportunity.

Just sent in my first 3 scores, wow, am I rusty!! There are 2 more days in this time period, enough for me to shoot a few more times if weather permits. Shot my first production score in several years with the MOA.
Need more practice!! But the postal match format is great. It's like every day is a new range and a new match. Remind me to twist Kerdunks arm next November so he can track air pistol scores in between the monthly matches at Linden.

Good to See you found time to shoot Rich. I bet you are not really that rusty.
I made a couple of seriously tried and true mistakes. Had the ram setting in for the first Chicken. Then used the wrong ammo for the first three banks of turkeys and Rams on another gun
Ah, what could have been. I'll work on not making those mistakes and you can oil up those rusty hinges.
Be well and stay safe.

We're in the middle of the second postal match period. I hope others are participating if they can. Scores go to kerdunk, so I haven't seen any except for final results.
It was an interesting sensation to be running a timer and keeping score. I had to do a mental check as I went to the line! Timer, scorecard, ammo, glove, merit, etc. And not being able (no time) to check each shot thru my spotting scope left me with no info except on first or maybe 2nd shot.
Indiana is reducing activity restrictions. We had a Steel Challenge match at our club with online registration, all you did in person was pay your money and confirm your entries. Only 2 people in clubhouse for registration, and they were 20 feet apart. I hosted a rifle match this week, everyone was very respectful of maintaining distance. In both events, the emphasis was for shooters to not feel obligated to attend, don't come if you are sick or feel you may be compromised. Different areas around the country will have their own criteria for resuming activities.
Hope you all can "Go play outside!"

Tic-Toc, time is passing quickly. The current match period runs thru this Sunday. Get outside, put shots down range, fresh air and smell of burning powder. What can be better?
