I suspect the rules committee will need to get a few frames for testing/evaluation before they make a decision.
I would hope there would be some notice posted on this forum if/when it gets approved/disapproved instead of each member contacting Del to find out.
Decisions from ANY committee that affects all IHMSA members should be posted on this forum so we don't have to go digging for answers.
Posting decisions here would go a long way to improving the transparency of IHMSA.
I just hope a decision is made in time for the beginning of the 2020 shooting season.
This is me voicing my nit-pick that we really don't know what is going on in any of the committees.

Just stating my opinion here, but why would they have to test and "evaluate" the SSK-50 frame ? It is a clone of the Contender "Easy-Open" frame, so just make a notification of legality and be done with it - no need for a complicated procedure !

Philip, Totally agree!!!! But since it won't be stamped TC I'm sure it will be considered as a totally new gun. I'm sure the local MDs will realize they are the same and allow them in Production.

I mentioned to Haus Of Arms about donating one to next years World Championships. I think it would be great to allow them to use our logo on the side of the frame. Also since some of us intend to buy one, special serial numbers would be great as a promotional item. We could "raffle" a couple off to raise money. Or, simply offer them for sale somehow.

Yes, it is a clone. And yes, it would fall under the same rules as the after market barrels. I spoke with Dell on this some time back.

we should work with SSK firearms as they are the MFR. if all goes well, SSK industries (JD jones), SSK firearms and Lehigh Defense will be all the same company by early next year. Haus of Arms is just mainly a dealer that specializes in TC's.

and yes, Based on Bruce's post, it will be production legal under the aftermarket rule. I did though check and the only real difference between the SSK-50 and the original contender is the Interlock Safety and the SSK-50 will be CNC machined while the original contender was Cast parts. tolerances should be much tighter on the SSK-50

Dan, I meant to work with SSK/Lehigh Defense. I read somewhere and correct me if I'm wrong. Some would be built with blank sides. The purchaser could then put whatever on the side. I'm no machinist or anything, but I would believe they could put a logo on the side of it with out much trouble. We any monies generated for paying target setters at the World Championships. Conversely clubs could use them to raise money for specialty shoots such as the ECC, LA Extravaganza and so forth.

yes, there will be a flat side available. mainly the one with the lynx on side and the flat side which you can get with any logo you want.

Haus of arms will be offering a model with their symbol on it.

right now, it just nice to again be able to get a decently priced production gun that does not break your bank account!
